
Operations and Project Management Consultant
James has been a core member of the TERRA Search team since June 2021. He is a DPAA certified Scientific Recovery Expert (SRE), officially sanctioned to lead recovery missions. He has spent over four years working on MIA Recovery Operations in the European and Pacific theaters.
James holds a BA in Archaeology, an MA in Landscape Archaeology, and an MSC in Forensic Archaeology specializing in crime scene and international investigations. James is also a Prince 2 qualified Project Manager.
Since 2002 James has worked in the field of archaeology and worked for 10 years with the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) dealing in conflict and post-conflict environments in the Middle East and the Balkans. James has worked on some of the most high-profile international cases dealing with genocide and human atrocities. In Iraq, James worked on human rights abuse and human atrocity investigations, providing expert training and capacity building for government ministries, judicial authorities, and law enforcement to elevate local forensic recovery practices to the highest international standards.
James met PJ on a recovery mission in Germany in 2019, where they shared a mutual passion for formal training, research and pre-deployment preparation for MIA Recovery Missions. He currently consults for TERRA Search in all areas Scientific and Field-Operational. James regularly deploys to the field with TERRA Search and has represented the organization on WWII Recovery projects in Sicily in support of Cranfield University in 2021 and 2022. In the UK, where James resides, he is also engaged with the Metropolitan Police in London, working in Central Operations.
