Dr. Sonny Trimble obtained his PhD in the field of Archaeology/Anthropology from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Dr Trimble is currently positioned as Director of the Center of Expertise for Archaeological Curation and Collections Management at the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, where he has operated for 34 years. Following Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr Trimble Led a team of archeological specialists who investigated Iraq’s mass graves and built the forensic case that helped prosecute Saddam Hussein and Chemical Ali for genocide and crimes against humanity. Dr. Sonny Trimble’s life has been dedicated to opening the past. His work has helped bring closure and justice to thousands of families who had previously lived under a cloud of uncertainty as to the fate of their loved ones. Dr. Trimble joined the TERRA Search Senior Advisory Board in July 2021, and specializes in field operations, strategy, and tactics.
